Large and renowned, our kingdom is divided into Great Houses, each ruled by a different Lord. In the era before, thanks to a successful Great Game, we happily survived the Winter under the rule of a new King. As Winter recedes, the Great Houses now have a chance to expand their economies.

The Supreme King is old and childless. He declared the next king shall be the Lord of the Great House he deems the most successful. Once the King passes away, his testament is to be unveiled so that the Council of Lords can determine the worthy heir.
The game incorporates some elements of risk management as it chaperons any investment activity. The decision on whether to allocate resources to hedge the potential risks can greatly affect the team's final score.
In the meantime, the acting King gets crotchety. Every turn, he gives the teams different tasks aimed at "distracting" them from the investment process. This way, the game emulates the reality of government policy.
The players' goal is to come up with an efficient investment strategy to lead their House to prosperity and advanced scientific knowledge. The ultimate prize of the game is, of course, the Supreme King's Crown.
